This 8 week program includes research based information to help explore the root cause, not the result, of our food issues. The program also includes a support group component, when available.
We spend thousands of dollars trying to manage the results of our food issues through fad diets and exercise programs without ever exploring why food has become an issue in our lives. Appetite For Wellness has been designed to get to the psychological and emotional reasons food has become our primary coping mechanism.
Some of the topics addressed are goal setting, moods and emotions (using CBT strategies) and other useful tools, and identifying cognitive distortions and how to break negative thinking-patterns.
We will look at how stress impacts us and how to overcome and break through all the hidden barriers to positive coping. We will also take a walk back in time to try to identify when food became more than a way to maintain good health, and address this in a way that will allow you to leave the past in the past.
